The handling of materials must be performed safely, efficiently at low cost in a timely manner, accurately and with out damage to the materials. Material handling is an integral part of any manufacturing activity.Material handling systems should be properly designed not only to ensure the minimum cost and compatibility with other manufacturing equipment but also to meet safety concerns.The cost of material handling is a significant portion of total production cost and the proportion mainly lies on types of material handling equipment used in production.
