How are you? Welcome to my blog once again.This is based on the trigonometric relationship of right triangle. This is used for range i.e. distance of an object from known points. A light source is used to focus the light beam at an object to form a spot of light on the object. Linear array of photodiodes are used to receive the reflected light.The angle A and L distance of photodiodes from light source are constant, accordingly the range R is calculated as a function of A.
