Transducer

Hi friends,
Transducer is a device which, when actuated transforms energy from one form to another. The input quantity for most of the instrumentation systems is “non-electrical quantity”. The non-electrical quantity is generally converted into an electrical form by using transducer. The broad definition of transducer includes, for example, devices which convert mechanical force into electrical signal. Many other physical parameters such as; heat, intensity of light, flow rate liquid level and humidity may also converted into electrical form by means of transducers.
Most of the times it is preferable to use electrical transducers. Since
• Electrical amplification and attenuation can be done easily.
• The mass-inertia effects are minimized.
• The effects of friction are minimized.
• The electrical or electronic systems can be controlled with a small power level. Thank you.
